Overview

When CloudWatch returns an error response, the Ruby SDK constructs and raises an error. These errors all extend Aws::CloudWatch::Errors::ServiceError < Errors::ServiceError

You can rescue all CloudWatch errors using ServiceError:

  # do stuff
rescue Aws::CloudWatch::Errors::ServiceError
  # rescues all CloudWatch API errors
end

## Request Context ServiceError objects have a #context method that returns information about the request that generated the error. See Seahorse::Client::RequestContext for more information.

## Error Classes

• ConcurrentModificationException

• DashboardInvalidInputError

  * This error class is not used. `InvalidParameterInput` is used during parsing instead.
  

• DashboardNotFoundError

  * This error class is not used. `ResourceNotFound` is used during parsing instead.
  

• InternalServiceFault

  * This error class is not used. `InternalServiceError` is used during parsing instead.
  

• InvalidFormatFault

  * This error class is not used. `InvalidFormat` is used during parsing instead.
  

• InvalidNextToken

• InvalidParameterCombinationException

  * This error class is not used. `InvalidParameterCombination` is used during parsing instead.
  

• InvalidParameterValueException

  * This error class is not used. `InvalidParameterValue` is used during parsing instead.
  

• LimitExceededException

• LimitExceededFault

  * This error class is not used. `LimitExceeded` is used during parsing instead.
  

• MissingRequiredParameterException

  * This error class is not used. `MissingParameter` is used during parsing instead.
  

• ResourceNotFound

• ResourceNotFoundException

Additionally, error classes are dynamically generated for service errors based on the error code if they are not defined above. Some existing error classes may use a different class name than the one documented.
